In Oxford - Short Stay Hotels and Accommodation

Flooded but not left High and Dry.

Serviced accommodation provider OxfordShortlets were kept busy during the days of the flooding of many Oxford streets.  Emma and her team were out and about ensuring that the properties under their management were suitably sandbagged and internally protected as well as they could be with the impending rising waters in the Botley and Abingdon Road areas.

The Lettings team were back manning the phones and offering sympathy and practical advice with regards to moving guests from potentially flooded areas to other properties out of the affected areas. They were also re-assuring absentee landlords that all was well with their property, a major task as many of the pictures shown on news programmes were of the worst hit areas and gave the impression that Oxford was drowning!

Ultimately we have worked with insurance companies and individuals and managed to assist several of the victims of this exceptional occurrence in temporary accommodation.  One such client was actually in the USA on holiday when they heard the news they called their insurance company and were advised to find temporary accommodation for the next 12 weeks as their property was uninhabitable!  They were obviously distressed and having to deal with insurance companies, builders and find temporary accommodation from across the Atlantic with time difference of 8hrs was making a bad situation worse.  However our lettings team stepped in and found them a property, dealt with the insurance company for payment all within a day or so which meant that they did not need to cut short their trip and rush home to make these arrangements.   Our thanks came in an email with the words - "Thanks for being so efficient I can't tell you how much it relieves the stress"

Job satisfaction at its best!
